Home of the Lone Star Aeronuts RC Flying Club
Like remote control model aircraft? Well, if you do, you have come to the right place. We have builders, flyers, fixed wing, helicopters, electrics, Pattern flyers, 3D flyers, multirotors, and First Person Video (FPV) flyers. The best hours to come see the pilots fly are from about 10:00 am until dusk on Weekends or Friday afternoons.
Guests are welcome to fly their Electrics, Piston airplanes, Helicopters & Gliders at the field. Current AMA membership is required. Spectators are welcome anytime to watch and ask questions.
Flying Field Location:
The club maintains an airfield in Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, Texas behind the Dell Diamond (see map). The physical address is 3300 Hwy 79. The club is AMA chartered.
See our Video Tour of the field.
Membership:
Anyone with an interest in Model Aircraft building and flying will benefit from membership with our club. Modeling is an excellent family activity and many new friendships are created through associations at the field and the events during the flying season.
In Order to Join or Renew your current membership, you must do so through this Website. First, click on the "Become a Member" button (top left above, below the banner photo) and read the Registration Instructions. Then, click either Join Club or Renew Membership. AMA membership is required and the online registration validates your AMA status.
Club Meetings:
The club has bi-monthly meetings online via Zoom, at 7:30 pm on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, every other month (January, March, May, July, September, and November.) Meeting invitations are emailed the day before the meeting, to all current members and to those whose membership has lapsed for less than a year.
FRIA Status:
On February 12, 2024, the FAA notified the club that our application for a Fixed Recreational Identification Area (FRIA) at our flying field has been approved.
